 Daniel Succi, general secretary of the San Lorenzo Oil Workers’ Union, predicted that the approval of the Base Law would be “the genocide” of workers. He emphasized the need for a strategic plan to resist any political decisions harming the sector. Succi and other union leaders are prepared to take forceful actions against policies that undermine labor rights and wages.

At a national meeting of oil workers, delegates unanimously authorized their leaders to take action against precarious labor conditions and wage destruction proposed in the Base Law. Succi called on the labor movement to unite against what he sees as an attack on workers’ rights.
